| So yea i think it's about time to update. Not sure whether people still read this or not, but oh well. I'm on leave for Christmas for bootcamp. It's so good to be home. I got in on the evening of the 18th. Sunday and Monday were such long days. Sunday everyone waited around all day to out process. Sunday night no one got any sleep. The soldiers flying out of Columbia, SC finally left battalion around 0430 in the morning. At 1030 I was finally on board to plane to leave South Carolina. WOOHOO!!! Then I got to Atlanta around 1115 and had to wait for my next flight out to Houston. blah blah blah. So I finally got to Austin around 1645 in the afternoon...I was so glad to be back in Texas! To put it all in a nutshell...bootcamp is bootcamp. We had rifle training, we've been gassed, we've gotten stronger and can run longer, we've done bayonets, learned cadences, and entered the world of the MRE farts!!! So that's a summation of bootcamp so far. All I can say now is I'm so glad to be home. I still am getting up at 3 in the morning...hopefully I'll break that habit in a couple of more days. click. | | |
| You know...it's really hot outside today. Though I don't think we have it as bad as west Texas. A little town in west Texas called Wink (hometown of Roy Orbison.) was 126 degrees on sunday. Crikey!! that's like hot and dry enough to suck all the water out of your face, and maybe even your face along with it.
